I was the Web Guru for the first Reality Check T.V. web site. It has since become a behemoth of scandal and swag with a sprawling guest & episode lists that rivals (on occassion surpasses) MTV.

1999 San Francisco Bay Guardian "BEST OF THE BAY"
"BEST WEB SITE ABOUT TRASHY UNDERGROUND CULTURE"

The Reality Check slush fund was in full effect when the RC Crew won the Best Website for a Local Television Show about Trashy Underground Culture! (you mean, there are others?)

The whole RC crew was represented: Danny D, Ace, Dragon Dave, Ron Skullsmasher and. our mysterious web master (that would be me!), Mr. E Med'ia! Not known for venturing far from his computer, Mr. E was surprised at all the amazing assortment of anarchists, actors and all around goofballs that were in attendance! And to top it off, most of the winners in the entertainment categories had been on Reality Check TV! Where ever you find the best in alternative culture, you always seen to find Reality Check!

Back row - Danny, MJW, Hugh

The RC crew piled out to the dance floor when the call  was made for the photography to commence. Naturally, Ace, Danny and Huge made sure we were on the front line of the bleachers for some shameless self promotion. Dave and Mr. E Med'ia ended up on the floor and Ron Skullsmasher was banished to the back row with the rest of the 6'4" collectors of the macabre. (You mean, there are others?)

With a few quick flashes of the camera, it was off to the bar! We hung out with Keith Knight, Bruce Brugmann (founder of the Guardian), the Biotic Baking brigade and other Bay Area stars.

Best Web Site for a Local TV Show
about Trashy Underground Culture

A Saturday-night staple on cable channel 53, 'Reality Check' has been dishin' the dirt on the local scene for eight years now. It's a sometimes sleazy, sometimes scattered, but always entertaining look at aspects of the eclectic underground in our own backyard. Lotsa bands, lotsa boobs, lotsa brazen goofiness – you never know what you're gonna catch when you tune in. With a penchant for peep shows, rock and roll, and assorted oddballs, your hosts Huge, Stuttering Danny D., and Space Ace can be found crashing parties at Burning Man, Bondage a Go-Go, or the Renaissance Faire. Or they may be interviewing the likes of Metallica, Al "Grandpa Munster" Lewis, porn star Nina Hartley, Carlos Santana, the Misfits, or Nashville Pussy – all of whom have been on past Reality Check episodes. And Reality Check has branched into the cyberworld as well. If for some reason you can't catch the show on Saturday nights, you can surf over to its Web site and take peeks at cuts that didn't make it on TV (via QuickTime video) and read the inside scoop on the show and the crew behind it. Most important, you can peruse a detailed log of past episodes (all 180 are gonna be up eventually), with info on how to order videotaped copies for an affordable 10 bucks each (two for $15). R-r-r-right on!
